Brian Warfield serves as the Executive Director of the JWMF. Brian is a Hospital Chaplain at Integris Health. He is married and has 4 boys. Brian started running in 2011 when he was working night shifts at the hospital. He needed an activity to expend energy and help him sleep during the day. When he toed the line at his first 5k race, the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, his dad Joe was there to cheer him on. Brian lost a parent, mentor, and running companion due to distracted driving. He ran the virtual Boston Marathon in 2020 as a tribute to his dad. Brian and his family wanted to carry on Joe’s legacy by engaging the community and making a positive impact by raising awareness of distracted driving. The JWMF was established in 2021 with a board of directors. Brian also leads the race committee to coordinate the annual Joltin’ Joe 5k in honor of his dad.
